2. What will the musicians wear?
We generally dress formally and wear all black, but can dress differently upon request.
3. What equipment do you require?
Each musician requires an armless chair and we also request that there be adequate lighting to allow us to read our music.
4. Do you require amplification?
The harp does require amplification. The harpist can bring an amp, either electric or battery operated. The electric amp is preferred if an electrical outlet is available. Extensions cords may be required depending on the distance from the outlet to the set up location. If the location already has a sound system in use, the harp may be able to plug into that system.
5. Can you play outdoors?
We can play outdoors except in the event of rain or cold weather (under 60 degrees). We do require shade in order to protect our instruments.
6. When will the musicians arrive?
We arrive 1 hour prior to the ceremony start time in order to set up and tune.
7. How many songs do you typically play?
For a wedding ceremony:
Prelude - (1/2 hour as guests are arriving) 7-10 songs
Processional - 1 song for attendants
Bride - 1 song or same as attendants
Ceremony – 1 song for sand / candle lighting ceremony (if desired)
Recessional – 1 song
Postlude 5-7 songs
For a cocktail hour :
About 25-30 songs
Reception (usually 2 hours):
About 55-60 songs
8. What is your traveling radius?
We will travel most anywhere in the tri-state area. We prefer to be within 2 hours of Hagerstown, MD / Shippensburg, PA area, but may travel furthur upon special request.
9. What kinds of music do you play?
We play classical, Celtic, gospel and love/pop/theme songs. Specific titles and composers are included on our most current repertoire.
10. I would like a song played that is not on your repertoire. Can this be done?
If there is a specific song you would like played, please let us know as soon as possible. We may be able to obtain the music and create our own arrangement. Keep in mind that not all songs lend themselves to a stringed harp, violin, cello arrangement.
